PROGRAM MANAGER / WEB DEVELOPER We are looking for a well-rounded individual to take on the dual responsibilities for program managing the SQL Server Beta Program and managing and developing the SQL Server internal website. There are several phases for each SQL Server Beta, featuring many activities designed to encourage community participation in the Beta and provide feedback to SQL Server development. The key factor is to leverage as much customer participation as possible. You will be asked to build a highly-leveraged, scalable Beta program that becomes essential to the deployment of SQL Server. Primary challenges will be to: get Beta program to critical mass, create a meaningful assessment criteria, identify regressions, improve customer satisfaction with the product and process, increase the testing and feedback activity of participants, and identify key community groups for SQL Server to meet their specific needs. You will manage the Beta Program project plan and related deliverables for major SQL Server releases (Liberty, Yukon and beyond) plus Service Pack releases (SQL8SP2, SQL7SP4 and beyond.). http://sql is the SQL Server Product group’s productivity and communication means within Microsoft and has grown into a frequently visited intranet site over the past months. Position requires maintenance of crucial content and permissions on existing web site as well as scheduling, coordination, design, documentation and rollout of carefully selected web site feature additions as defined and agreed to with the SQL Server Release Management team. You will work closely with all product units within SQL Server and partner closely with Worldwide Services PSS/Beta Technology Support, plus OEM and ISV partners as appropriate. The successful candidate must be a team player and well organized, able to work and prioritize across multiple teams. Must have demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with program managers, developers, and testers. Must have experience in Web design, HTML, DHTML, ActiveX, ASP, IIS and SQL Server, and have created at least one professional web site using this mix of technologies before. Experience as a program manager or project manager is preferred. Creativity, conceptual thinking, problem solving ability, good verbal, organizational and written communication skills are a must. Must have a good understanding of how product development teams deploy product. A BA/BS degree in computer science or related technical discipline is preferred.
